Team Manager: E&I Dry - AN & Emulsion

The Engineering Team Manager for E&I Emulsion is responsible for leading the Electrical and Instrumentation engineering team within the Emulsion plant operations. The role ensures reliability, safety, and optimal performance of all E&I systems, supporting plant availability and production targets. This position is accountable for maintenance strategy execution, project delivery, and compliance with global standards
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement E&I maintenance strategies aligned with plant reliability goals
- Ensure all electrical and instrumentation assets are maintained, calibrated, and operating optimally
- Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Lead and coordinate E&I-related capital and improvement projects, including upgrades, retrofits, and shutdown activities
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and comply with safety and quality standards
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and reliability
- Manage, mentor, and develop the E&I team, ensuring skills are aligned with operational needs
- Plan workforce requirements, including training, succession planning, and performance management
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
- Ensure compliance with statutory and company safety standards, including MHSA and OH&S regulations
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions for electrical and instrumentation systems
- Ensure all work is carried out safely, with proper risk assessments and permit-to-work procedures
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Process, and Reliability teams to support production goals
- Interface with contractors, suppliers, and external service providers on E&I projects and maintenance
- Report on key performance indicators (KPIs), asset performance, and reliability metrics to management
Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical & Instrumentation trade qualification (e.g., N3/N4 + E&I Apprenticeship) or Engineering Degree in E&I
- Proven experience in plant reliability and maintenance within chemical, mining, or industrial operations
- Experience in managing teams and coordinating complex projects
- Knowledge of E&I standards, automation systems, and instrumentation calibration
- Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in Electrical & Instrumentation engineering within chemical/mining/industrial operations
