Shipping Officer

To administer the internal sales function of AECI Water by maintaining a guaranteed efficient service to all customers (internal and external) thereby ensuring continued customer satisfaction. As well verifies and maintains records of Imports and Exports of orders (in bound and out bound) in a warehouse or distribution centre, prepares goods for despatch internationally and ensures all import shipments are cleared through customs and delivered.

Required outputs: Functional

- Ensuring export invoicing and accounts documentation is accurate and correct.
- Processing Export orders on SAP accurately and in timely manner.
- Ensuring all shipping targets and maintaining high service levels.
- Managing of third party logistics service providers.
- Regular reporting on import and export activities.
- Thorough understanding of Incoterms 2020®.
- Accurate and up to date record keeping of shipping documents for SARS and internal Audits.
- Accurate processing of import and export documentation through customs.
- Checking chemical and dangerous goods compatibility for shipping.
- Ensuring Customer satisfaction internally and externally.
- Ensuring freight cost recovery and monitoring.
- Ensuring shipments are tracked and closed from origin to destination
- Ensuring export invoicing and accounts documentation is accurate and correct

Qualifications and expertise required (Must)

• Grade 12/Matric
• Bcom logistics or similar
• 5 to 6 years’ experience minimum
• Proficiency MS Office suite 
• Chemical industry or dangerous goods knowledge beneficial 
•  SAP system experience beneficial 
• INCOTERMS 2020®, laws and regulations applicable to Freight Forwarding and importation
• Knowledge across all the disciplines of Supply Chain Management
• International trade, Import/Export/Shipping activities
