Required Outputs: Functional
- Operation of factory equipment as required for manufacture of phosphoric acid and liquid fertilizers i.e. ammonium polyphosphate and potassium polyphosphate.
- Operation of tank farm equipment, filling of drums, filling and dispatch of road tankers.
- Basic product quality monitoring and sample taking in the plant.
- Housekeeping and undertake any legal ad hoc tasks for which the incumbent is competent as directed by management.
- Forklift Operation- stacking and storage.
- Assist with YP drum decanting, stock counts, assisting staff in other areas.
- Working in rotated shifts and overtime when required.
- Reporting any injury, accident or incident that one is involved in and/or witness.
- Reporting any quality or food safety non-conformity, any incidence of pollution, spillage or other environmental related non-conformity that is detected.
- Required to conform to relevant SHEQ rules and regulations as per company policy.
- Ensures that work instructions and standard operating procedures are strictly adhered to.
- Any modifications must be reported to the management.
Qualifications , Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 with Science and Maths.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the chemical plant manufacturing.
- Experience in operating a Major Hazardous Installation (MHI) plants and working with hazardous materials.
- Forklift training.
- Good knowledge (basic) of the OHS Act and Food Safety Management.
