Position Summary

 

The Senior Supply Chain Coordinator – West is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient sourcing, importation, inventory control, and production processing of raw materials and finished goods at AECI’s Western Australia site. The role ensures continuity of supply through effective stock management, logistics coordination, and strong collaboration with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers, while maintaining compliance with dangerous goods and regulatory requirements.

 

Key Requirements

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline (desirable)
  • Proven experience in supply chain and logistics roles, preferably within a dangerous goods environment
  • Technical knowledge and experience across shipping, freight forwarding, customs clearance, broking, stevedoring, heavy haulage, line haul, rail and air transport
  • Previous exposure to handling and transporting Class 1 and Class 5.1 dangerous goods
  • High-level SAP knowledge or experience with other ERP systems (desirable)
  • Experience working with third-party logistics and service providers
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge and understanding of legislation relevant to the freight and shipping of explosives
  • Ability to obtain and retain required security cards and clearances

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage inventory control and stock management, including forecasting raw materials and consumables, monitoring stock holdings, and determining reorder requirements to ensure continuity of supply
  • Source materials locally and internationally, including raising purchase requisitions and purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and managing end-to-end procurement activities
  • Coordinate the safe and compliant import and transport of raw materials and finished goods
  • Review and approve stock-related invoices, freight charges, and associated costs
  • Coordinate and manage stocktakes, including reconciliation and investigation of variances
    Process and maintain accurate production and inventory transactions in SAP
  • Process customer sales orders and coordinate dispatch and delivery, including local distribution and support for export movements where required
  • Provide month-end, year-end, and audit support in line with internal controls and reporting requirements
  • Analyse supply chain and inventory data, preparing reports and insights to support operational and commercial decision-making
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and service providers
  • Provide support to the Supply Chain Manager and wider Supply Chain team as required to achieve operational and business objectives
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support site operations and business priorities
