Purpose of the Job
Supervise and coordinate production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations while achieving production targets, quality standards, and operational objectives. Leading production teams, monitoring plant performance, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, optimising productivity and equipment utilisation.
Job Output Requirements

To control and operate plant and equipment as efficiently and safely as possible to defined quality specifications

Must report and investigate deviations from normal conditions and be able to deal with basic process upsets
- Assist senior process controllers in operating the plant
- Prepare the plant for startup
- Start up a process
- Monitor and maintain a process
- Shutdown a process
- Control and monitor plant and equipment within the scope of authority
- Prepare plant for maintenance and reinstate after maintenance is complete
- Carry out authorized maintenance operation
- Act as first line of defense in case of a fire and other emergencies
- Perform any other related tasks as may be required from time to time
Qualification Experience
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science
- National Diploma or Certificate in Production Management, Operations Management, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related (Essential Advantage)
- Red Seal Trade Test Certificate (Essential Advantage)
- 3–5 years’ experience in a production or plant environment
- Knowledge of production planning, quality control, and safety procedures.
- Experience working with production reporting systems and operational KPIs (Sucess Factor)
- Health and Safety training/certification is advantageous
