Purpose of the job

General maintenance and repairs a plant and equipments.  Plays a critical role in keeping the facility’s mechanical systems safe, reliable, and efficient. Ensure that all equipment used in processing plant operates correctly under often harsh and hazardous conditions. 

Required outputs: Functional

• Perform Schedule/Preventative maintenance tasks to minimize plant down-time
• Do improvements, new installations and modifications to plant & equipment
• Respond to equipment breakdowns
• Ensure safe operation of plant & equipment
• Perform general housekeeping tasks
• Must be prepared to work overtime and standby as and when required
• Must be in posession of valid driving licence
• Must be able to work at heights or in confined spaces
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings
• Proven planning & fault-finding ability
• Must be able to obtain a certificate of fitness
• Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Requirements
• Sucessfully completed Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science or Techical N3 Certificate
• Fitting trade test certificate (red seal)
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings
