Project Coordinator

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To lead and coordinate the effective delivery of operational support, engineering services, maintenance activities, and strategic projects within the Front-End Support function.The role is responsible for ensuring that engineering projects, delivery systems, maintenance programmes, and customer-support initiatives are planned and executed in accordance with AECI standards, business strategy, governance requirements, contractual obligations, and applicable statutory, safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.

REQUIRED OUTPUTS: FUNCTIONAL 

• Operational Audits, Planning, and Execution.
• Execution of strategic engineering projects and change management.
• Development of maintenance personnel and Field Specialists.
• People management of internal, external contractors, and professional services.
• Lead efforts to ensure continuous business improvement and technical support.
• Ensure compliance with governance and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
• Customer interaction and engagement to ensure customer satisfaction and business support, compliance, and growth.
• Ensure a comprehensive support structure is in place to enable an effective service to our customers.
• Assist in the rollout and completion of projects on customers’ sites.
• Coordination and control of any assistance for delivery system deployment.
• Ensure maintenance personnel and field specialists have the skills and ability to deliver quality service, conduct audits and report on any shortcomings, and help to remedy.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Project Management.
• Minimum 3–5 years' relevant experience in delivery systems and engineering processes, preferably across mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a mining environment.
• Experience within the explosives industry, preferably in an explosives engineering or technical environment.
• Proven experience in project engineering and/or project management.
• Proven experience in plant optimisation and engineering improvement projects.
• Experience in multidisciplinary project environments.
• Experience with process design documentation, including:
• Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
• Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
• HAZOP
• Management of Change (MOC)
• Experience in contractor and contract management.
• Experience in hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk-control processes.
• Experience in performance management, coaching, and people development.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Project.
