Procurement Manager: International Operation

Main Purpose of the Job
The Procurement Manager International Operations plays a critical role in procurement execution across AECI’s Rest of World (RoW)* operations, ensuring alignment with global strategies, while addressing regional market dynamics and risks. The role enables AECI’s global growth ambitions by optimising cost, managing risk, and strengthening supply resilience across international markets. The role collaborates closely with global procurement and business teams, to deliver strategic outcomes across regions.
*RoW refers to all AECI’s operations outside of South Africa.
Role and Responsibilities:
Procurement Management
- Provide end-to-end procurement oversight across AECI’s international operations
- Ensure effective execution of key category strategies across international markets and operations
- Adapt global category strategies to regional requirements and opportunities
- Drive and enable value delivery through strategic sourcing principles, supplier leverage, and regional optimisation opportunities
- Ensure alignment with AECI’s procurement governance frameworks and drive consistent adherence across all RoW regions
- Drive procurement performance management, ensuring effective tracking of key performance indicators, reporting, and continuous improvement
- Proactively and continuously gather, analyse and maintain market intelligence across managed regions to inform strategic decision making
- Oversee and actively manage AECI’s low-cost country sourcing office, to drive enterprise-wide cost optimisation
- Serve as the central point of contact for procurement project support across RoW regions, ensuring alignment, consistency, and effective service delivery
Supply chain
- Identify, assess and mitigate international supply chain risks (geopolitical, regulatory, logistical) in alignment with AECI’s risk management framework
- Manage regional supply risk through structured profiling, monitoring and mitigation
- Strengthen supply continuity and resilience across international operations
Compliance
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, standards, and controls across regional operations
Stakeholder management
- Manage key cross-border supplier relationships and associated logistics complexities
- Partner with regional business leaders to position procurement as a strategic enabler
- Lead and manage regional stakeholder relationships to drive alignment and collaboration
- Build and sustain strong, collaborative relationships across diverse markets and cultures, effectively communicating and influencing decisions while aligning stakeholders to procurement and business objectives
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance or a related field
- Postgraduate qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Business Management will be advantageous
- Procurement certification, e.g. Certified Purchasing Manager
- Matric
- Minimum of 8 years proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, supply chain or operations
- Experience working for a multinational organisation
- Multilingual and proficient in the English, French and Mandarin languages
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, structure, analyze, and interpret complex datasets
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and eProcurement platforms (Coupa advantageous)

- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., modelling, pivot tables) and experience with data visualization / BI tools a plus)
