Purpose of the job

 

Responsible to manage and support strategic Global Human Capital Services projects and initiatives that enhance AECI’s human capital priorities. This incumbent must have in-depth experience across the Human Capital value chain and service delivery, in support of the overarching human capital service delivery excellence imperative. This role includes the management and support of strategic projects initiated within the Group VP: GHCS portfolio. The incumbent will be required to collaborate with HC stakeholders to support the company's overall people strategic objectives.

 

Role and Responsibilities

 

Project Management

 

  • Lead and manage special projects related to the optimisation of human capital operations and systems, including workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements. Ensure alignment with human capital strategy, organisational goals and strategic priorities.
  • Lead the execution of special projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets. Monitor progress through regular status updates, milestone reviews, and performance metrics.
  • Identify potential obstacles and risks early, implementing proactive solutions to address and resolve issues. Ensure that the project stays on track and within scope.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project charters, plans, status reports, and post-project evaluations.

 

Strategic Initiatives

 

  • Collaborate with the human capital Centres of Excellence and the senior HC leadership to identify key human capital initiatives that align with the organisation's strategic goals.
  • Design and implement programmes / projects to address identified gaps and opportunities in human capital operations and related systems.
  • Provide ongoing support to the overarching human capital service delivery excellence imperative.
  • Design and implement strategic initiatives that drive human capital effectiveness service delivery excellence.
  • Manage initiatives by ensuring they are closely aligned with the company's strategic goals and provide measurable value.
  • Regularly review and adjust strategies based on changing business needs.

 

Data Analysis and Reporting

 

  • Analyse workforce data and metrics to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement in human capital operations and systems.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Gather relevant data from various sources, including HR systems, surveys, and performance metrics. Ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform in-depth analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform decision-making.

 

Project Change Management

 

  • Develop and execute change management strategies to support the projects to ensure smooth implementation of new processes and / or systems.
  • Develop and implement project specific change management strategies to support human capital service transformations, process improvements, and/ or new system initiatives.
  • Create and execute communication plans to inform and engage employees about changes arising from the project objectives.
  • Design and deliver training programmes to embed the project related changes. Provide ongoing support and resources to facilitate a smooth transition.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of project change initiatives and gather feedback to make necessary adjustments.
  • Assess the overall impact of the project changes on the organisation and its employees.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

 

  • Engage with key stakeholders, including senior leaders in centres of excellence, HC teams, and employees, to gather input and ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and meetings to gather feedback and drive project success.
  • Identify key stakeholders and assess their interests, influence, and impact on projects and initiatives.
  • Develop strategies for engaging each stakeholder group effectively.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders through regular communication, meetings, and updates.
  • Address stakeholder concerns and incorporate feedback into project planning and execution.
  • Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders, including senior leaders, team members, and external partners.
  • Manage alignment on project goals and expectations.
  • Best Practices and Innovation
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to human capital management and operations.
  • Benchmark against industry standards to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Propose innovative solutions to enhance HC processes and practices within the organisation.
  • Apply best practices and innovative solutions to enhance HR processes, systems, and programmes.
  • Assess the impact of new practices and innovations on organisational performance.

 

Compliance and Risk Management

 

  • Manage all projects by ensuring they comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with project implementation and human capital initiatives.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and adjust policies and practices accordingly.
  • Identify potential risks associated with projects, processes, or initiatives.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
  • Continuously monitor compliance and risk management efforts.
  • Report on compliance status, risk exposures, and mitigation actions to senior leadership

 

Qualification and Experience

 

  • Minimum of a 3 Year Degree / Diploma (NQF 7) in Human Resources or related fields.
  • Advantageous: Project Management Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • 5-8 year’s of experience in people related projects and experience in project management, administration and change management
  • In depth experience of managing multi-dimensional programmes, deadlines, and project budgets.
  • Engagement with diverse, external international stakeholders in managing legislative risk.
