Sales Assistant

This role is designed to support the Sales Team in Traded business portfolios with the Admin functions that include Procurement, Logistics and Exports.
Roles and Responsibilities
Buying/Procurement
- Ordering of stock based on averages, forecasts and firm orders
- Monitoring of short shelf life stock
- Monitoring slow moving stock
- Request repacks
- Stock allocation to customers
- Approving of cancellations/amendments of sales orders
- Handle various queries to Principles (technical, pricing, stock availability, spec sheets, MSDS’s…)
- Ordering of samples
- Requesting sea freight estimates/air freight estimates
Logistics
- Generating PO’s from SAP and placing with the suppliers
- Check that the order acknowledgements, ETA & pricing are correct
- Check expiry dates of the COA’s before products are shipped
- Advise sales if there is a delay on their stock
- Requesting relevant shipping documents
Exports
- Sourcing best quotes for transport to each country
- Supply PFI to customer
- Manage shipment and regular communication with customers on status of their orders
- Expediting of orders
- Ensure invoices are in line and customer is invoiced
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric / Grade 12.
- Procurement qualification a benefit
- ±3 Years’ Experience in Shipping (Imports/Exports/purchasing)
- Experience and clear understandings in product costing
- ±2 years’ experience in dealing with Suppliers and logistics companies
- Must have experience working on SAP and MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
