Purpose of the job: To provide SHEQ support for the AECI WATER manufacturing and front end sales, also to ensure SHEQ compliance to all applicable legislation and any other requirements to which AECI water subscribes to. The role is also key to implementation of the AECI SHEQ strategy implementation across all his/her area of responsibility

Required outputs: Functional

  • Provide support for the implementation of the SHEQ Policy, Strategy, Fundamentals and Framework.
  • Provide input to setting, monitoring SHEQ performance requirements.
  • Facilitate the process of creating and cascading AECI Water SHEQ targets, communicate, monitor and give feedback.
  • Assist leaders to identify relevant jobspecific SHEQ competencies and related training, provide training where applicable and keep records.
  • Ensure new employees, Service Providers and visitors are provided with the necessary awareness, knowledge, understanding of SHEQ requirements
  • Ensure that relevant SHEQ committees, forums and other communication channels are established and are effective.
  • Facilitate and/or co-ordinate SHEQ risk assessments and annual risk reviews and manage the business SHEQ risk profile database.
  • Facilitate incident investigations and track actions for closure.
  • Assist with the compilation of the SHE file as required by Customers
  • Conduct first party audits and inspection for your responsible areas, compile a report and track actions for closure
  • Participate in Audits conducted by Third parties as auditees and providing evidence as required
  • Co-ordinate occupational health and hygiene programmes where applicable and ensure close-out of deviations
  • Participate in site project reviews and risk assessments.
  • Ensure that periodic medical examinations are completed and records kept
  • Ensure that legal appointments are in place 

 

Qualifications and expertise required (Must)

 

  • Matric / Grade 12.
  • National diploma or suitable qualification in SHEQ Management. B Tech will be an advantage
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Public Water environment
  • ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 Understanding and Implementation.
  • Auditor Training an advantage.
  • Incident investigation training.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Training.
  • Legal Compliance Training
  • Environmental Law training an advantage
  • Experience / training in Process Safety principles an advantage.
  • Excellent computer skills (especially Excel and Outlook)
  • Drivers licence
