Quality Control Lab Analyst

Purpose of the Job:
The purpose of the Quality Control Lab Analyst role is to ensure that all raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products meet defined quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The role is responsible for conducting accurate and timely laboratory testing, analysing results, and identifying any deviations to prevent non-compliant products from being released. This position supports operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement within the organisation.
Required outputs: Functional
- Perform routine QC analysis on the final products and raw materials
- To maintain good housekeeping
- Be able to analyses the results from the tests
- Be able to work shifts as and when needed
- Do monthly stock take of chemicals and glassware
- Report the results on time and be able to plan work according to urgency
- Inform the plant of off spec results
- Offer plant support – process checks
- Define, implement, and enforce laboratory rules and best practices. Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards (e.g. ISO)
- Ensure full compliance with quality systems and document control procedures.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field
- Relevant laboratory or quality control certification (advantageous)
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and/or ISO quality standards
- Additional training in laboratory techniques or instrumentation (advantageous)
- 1–3 years’ experience in a laboratory or quality control environment
- Exposure in Manufacturing or Chemicals environments (Essential Advantage)
- Experience in working with quality management systems and audits (Essential Advantage)
