This role is designed to plan, manage, and deliver Nitrates-related projects, ensuring on-time completion, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, operational continuity, and successful handover to Operations and Maintenance teams.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Approved project charters, scope documents, and schedules
- Feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimates completed
- Timely execution of Nitrates projects within scope, budget, and schedule
- Coordination of contractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Quality assurance and compliance with SHEQ standards
- Budget tracking, variance reports, and cost forecasts
- Approval of variations, progress claims, and invoices within mandate
- Regular status reports and updates to internal stakeholders
- Effective collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and SHEQ teams
- Implementation of risk mitigation strategies
- Compliance with OHS Act, MHSA, Environmental Regulations, and internal SHEQ standards
- Zero harm principles applied across all project activities
- Completion of as-built documentation, O&M manuals, and training records
- Formal handover of projects to Operations and Maintenance teams
- Post-project review and lessons learned reports
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial) or equivalent
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) is highly desirable
- In-depth understanding of Nitrates production processes and chemical plant operations
- Project management methodologies (PMBOK, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards, including OHS Act, MHSA, Explosives Regulations, and NEMA requirements
- Familiarity with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning processes
- Understanding of budget management, cost control, and financial reporting
