The Plant Assistant will report to the Technical Officer.
- CORE PURPOSE OF JOB
This position exists to perform MCU loading, products offloading, housekeeping around the plant as well as assisting the Technicians and perform general duties on site.
- SCOPE AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The core responsibilities and accountabilities include:
- Compliance with SHEQ standards
- Housekeeping around the plant, magazines and vehicles
- Assist during plant, magazine and vehicle repairs and maintenance
- Loading and offloading of products and other deliveries to the plant and magazines
- Assist in explosives raw material quality checks
- Assist during Mobile Charging Units (MCU) refilling
- Any other duties as assigned

- KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES
The incumbent should have at least the following:
- At least a Cambridge O’ Level/ BGCSE certificate or equivalent
- At least two years’ experience in an explosives manufacturing and storage environment
- Valid Driver’s License
- Valid Open Pit or Underground Blasting License
- Botswana Citizen
- Must be fluent in both Setswana and English
- Knowledge of and experience in AECI products is an added advantage
- Experience in copper mining is an added advantage
