This role is designed to operate plant and equipment in designated sections in accordance with standards operating procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensures that standard operating procedures (SOP’s) are strictly adhered to.
- Manufacture blends and reaction batches in blenders and reactors respectively.
- Stencilling of Polycans, labelling of all packaging containers and packing
- Monitor Effluent levels and Utilities.Control reaction using Scada system.
- Support improvement project.
- Communicate accurate and concise information to the Team Leaders and Laboratory personnel.
- Ensure precise shift handover at the end of the shift.
- Ensure effective shut down by preparing the plant and liaising with relevant personnel.
- Carry out PJOs on Batch Operators, Junior Operators and identify areas that require attention and close the gap.
- Assist in the training of Operators and Learners.
- Assist the Team Leaders in updating manufacturing manuals and process logs
- Act as a Team Leader as and when required
- Issue permits to work.
- Assist in the incident investigations.
- Drive a Forklift
- Ensure that all safety standards are maintained.
Qualifications and Experience (Must)
- Matric
- Chemical Operations NQF 3 / Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 /3 years’ experience in a chemical plant
- Computer literate.
- Valid Forklift license.
- Work at height
