This role is designed to operate plant and equipment in designated sections in accordance with standards operating procedures.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manufacture blends and reaction batches in blenders and reactors respectively
- Ensure plant section is safe for start-up and appropriate documentation is available for batch start up
- Monitor Effluent levels and Utilities
- Ensure efficient control over Utility and raw material usage, to prevent wastage.
- Stencilling of Polycans, Labelling of all packaging containers and packing.
- Pack and Offload tankers
- Transfer product to/from storage tanks
- Control reaction using Scada system
- Manage and separate waste materials
- Identify changing process conditions and investigate
- Communicate accurate and concise information to the Team Leaders and Laboratory personnel
- Assist the Team Leaders in updating manufacturing manuals and process logs
- Assist in the training of Operators and Learners
- Conduct risk assessments
- Conduct bulk storage tanks cycle count
- Ensure efficient shift handover
- Operate Forklift and air hoist
- Ensure that all safety standards are maintained
Qualifications and Experience (Must)
- Matric
- Chemical Operations NQF 2
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a chemical plant
- Valid forklift licence
- Ability to work at height
