Team Leader Distribution

Purpose of the Job

To lead and coordinate the team activities by assisting in the development and growth of the business within the Distribution magazine area. Ensure compliance to the Explosives Regulations, safe and effective receiving and dispatching of the required quantity and quality product

Roles and Responsibilities

• Team management in the area of responsibility
• Maintain magazines housekeeping to the required standards and adhere to storage license requirements
• Perform cycle count to manage operating costs and ensure availability of good quality product and compliance to Explosives regulations
• Ensure implementation of manufacturing excellence standards on maintenance of vehicles, equipment and physical surrounding are in safe, neat and workable conditions through the proactive use of maintenance and safety processes and system
• Manages the quality aspects of all work done, i.e. receiving, storage, order preparation and dispatch.
• Support continual business improvement and change management
• Comply with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and practices
• Comply with Safety, Health and Environment standards
• Comply with explosives act and regulations as applicable

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 with Maths and Science /Tertiary qualification in supply chain management or technical field
• 1-2 years relevant supply chain experience is required
• Experience in explosives and at a supervisory level will be an advantage
• Thorough knowledge of stock control management theories, principles and practices
• Computer literacy and SAP experience (would be advantageous)
• Knowledge of the OHS Act and Explosive Act
