Purpose of the Job
To act as the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 anchor and administrative hub for the Analytical Laboratory, with a primary focus on the accreditation project. This role provides ongoing disciplined QMS support and rigorous coordination across the entire project. The purpose is to guarantee the safe, fully compliant, efficient execution of ISO/IEC 170125:2017 accreditation requirements and ownership, enhancing competence, accuracy, and reliability to customers and regulators.

ISO 17025 Compliance: Implement and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), including documentation, internal audits, corrective actions, and risk management.
Operational Management: Oversee daily lab operations, test scheduling, sample handling, and data integrity.
Technical Oversight: Validate testing methods, ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and review/authorize test reports.
Personnel Supervision: Train, mentor, evaluate staff competency to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manage personnel performance.
Health & Safety: Promote, monitor and enforce safety compliance as per company standards to ensure a safe laboratory environment.
Client Management: Liaison with clients regarding testing requirements, timelines, and results.
Successful maintenance of ISO 17025 accreditation.
Laboratory efficiency, accuracy of data, and report turnaround times.
Audit compliance and reduced corrective actions.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- A Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related chemistry field.
5 years experience as a Technical Signatory and in a supervisory role, with hands-on experience in an accredited (ISO 17025) laboratory.
Strong understanding of laboratory instrumentation, trouble shooting, method development and quality systems.
