Junior Test Engineer

Purpose of the job

The incumbent will be responsible for testing and debugging manufactured equipment through the use of systematic tests, according to specifications as per the software requirements.

Responsibilities: Functional

• Interact with development teams to develop a strong understanding of the product and testing objectives
• Study software functions and changes implemented.
• Attend software review meetings of functions implemented and changes made.
• During the development process: Test firmware informally with designers to trap programming errors before the software is finalised and released.
• During formal testing: Design test cases to uncover software errors.  Verify the correct implementation of software.  Produce reports on the test results.  Ensure functional coverage in tests.
• Prepare test plans, test procedures, and reports on test results.

Requirements: Qualifications and experience

• BEng (Electronics/Electrical or equivalent)
• 1-3 years’ work experience in development and/or testing role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.
• Solid understanding of software quality assurance and processes.
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple, diverse projects simultaneously.
