Purpose of the Job

 

To manage the logistics of a Magazine with respect to conforming to the legal requirements, stock control of hazardous explosive materials and dispatching and maintaining the explosives delivery fleet in order to meet customers’ needs.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure the availability of explosives and accessories to the customers, through receiving and executing orders from customers.
  • Supervise loading/offloading of product from delivery vehicles, and ensure product is correctly stacked and that strict stock control measures are enforced.
  • Plan and schedule delivery vehicle maintenance, scheduling and utilisation.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering OTIF simultaneously building AEL’s image.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for the World Class Systems and files.
  • Must ensure competent and motivated people through coaching and growing them.
  • Look after the company’s interests by adhering to the CIE’s requirements and all legal requirements and inspections.
  • Build the Company’s image through a World Class site and well-maintained equipment.
  • Take care of all business-related administration, i.e. invoicing, delivery notes, etc.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • At least a Cambridge O’Level/BGCSE cereti.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a related position preferable in an underground mining environment
  • Be in possession of a valid Open Pit or Underground Blasting Licence
  • Valid Class B drivers’ licence.
  • Must be fluent in both Setswana and English
  • Knowledge of and experience in AECI products is an added advantage
  • Basic stock control or similar experience would be a recommendation.
  • Must be able to obtain First Aid and Fire Fighting Certificates
  • Strong initiative and people skills
  • Be a Botswana Citizen
  • Good understanding of the Explosive Act, Mine Quarries ,works and Machinery Act (MQWM) and other related SHE legislative requirements
