1. POSITION DETAILS

Contract Type: 10 months Fixed Term Contract

Loacation: Plutus Project – Khoemacau Copper Mine Site.

2. CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

To operate, manage and maintain all aspects of a mobile manufacturing unit in order to meet the customers’ requirements within the standards and procedures

3. SCOPE AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The core responsibilities and accountabilities include:

• Managing and operating all aspects of a mobile manufacturing unit (MMU) in order to meet the customer requirements with the standards and procedures
• Carry out regular inspections in terms of SABS and World Class on MMUs to identify non-conformances and institute preventative measures as well as to achieve continuous improvement.
• Assist in eliminating all sources of waste and controlling of operating costs to within the budgeted parameters.
• Assist in ensuring that the region delivers on financial requirements as agreed within the annual budget.
• Complete minor maintenance on MMU when required
• Ensure Quality products are supplied
• To maintain vehicle records in the MMU’s.
• To ensure MMU’s are submitted for services according to maintenance schedules.
• To assist Diesel Mechanic during MMU maintenance, repairs and calibration
• To ensure monthly maintenance is carried out according to World Class standard.
• To ensure MMU is kept clean at all times.
• To assist Technical Officer in ensuring MMU licensing and roadworthiness are always up to date.

5. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

The incumbent should have at least the following:

• At least a Cambridge O’Level/BGCSE certificate
• Valid Code EC Drivers Licence is essential (please attach a copy of your driver’s licence to your application)
• The applicants must be able to obtain a PrDP
• At least 2 years’ experience in operation of a Heav Duty Vehicle (HDV)
• Open Pit or/and underground Blasting Licence is an added advantage
• Be a Botswana Citizen
• Knowledge of and experience in AECI products is an added advantage
• Experience in an open pit and underground mine is an added advantage
• Blasting technical knowledge is an added advantage
