The Agent Onboarding and Commission Specialist will play a central role in supporting the financial and operational integrity of the organisation’s agent network. This role ensures that sales agents are accurately onboarded, compliant, and paid correctly, while maintaining strong communication channels and delivering exceptional service to both internal stakeholders and external agents.
 

Key Responsibilities

Commission Calculation & Month‑End Processes

  • Prepare monthly commission liability journals for each agent.
  • Review agent commission extracts and identify significant variances needing correction.
  • Process required correction journals and prepare depot commission journals.
  • Calculate agent rebates and incentives.

Commission Statements & Payment Preparation

  • Communicate commission pack deadlines to all stakeholders and ensure adherence.
  • Review and reconcile balance sheet transactions in line with commission rules.
  • Submit PAYE schedules and provisional payment values to agents and regional managers.
  • Prepare commission statements and supporting documentation, including sample checks.
  • Submit payment lists for review and approval, and sign off packs for final circulation.

Agent Onboarding, Master Data & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date agent master files, including onboarding and termination processes.
  • Conduct annual dominant impression tests for tax compliance.
  • Ensure agent contact details and communication lists are current and accurate.
  • On termination, ensure all confidential information is removed from outgoing agent communications.

Audit Support, Controls & Administration

  • Assist with internal and external audit processes as required.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory accounting requirements.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Support general financial administrative duties as needed.

SHEQ Compliance

  • Comply with all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment and Quality) regulations and site requirements.
  • Support SHEQ management system standards and ensure correct handling of non‑conformance processes.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all internal control policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 and a relevant tertiary qualification such as a B.Compt with Accounting major.
  • 3–5 years of experience in an accounting or financial operations environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of Syspro is advantageous.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transport.
  • Must be medically fit to drive.
