We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Head of Human Resources – Australia & Asia to provide regional leadership across all people and culture matters. This senior leadership role partners closely with the Vice President and executive leadership team to enable business performance, leadership effectiveness, and long‑term organisational sustainability across Australia and multiple Asian markets.

About the Role

Reporting to the Vice President – Australia & Asia, this role leads the regional Human Capital function and oversees HR leaders across Australia, PNG, and Indonesia. Operating in a complex, operational environment, the role balances strategic influence with hands‑on leadership, ensuring people initiatives are aligned with business priorities and delivered with discipline and impact.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing high‑performing regional HR teams
  • Shaping and delivering a regional people strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior executives on complex people and organisational matters
  • Driving leadership capability, succession planning, and workforce planning
  • Leading employee and industrial relations strategy across multiple jurisdictions
  • Supporting organisational change, transformation, and restructuring initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, governance, and risk frameworks
  • Overseeing HR systems, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

You are a seasoned HR leader with the credibility, judgement, and influence to operate at executive level within a matrixed, international organisation.

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 15 years’ HR management experience, including 10+ years in mining, resources, manufacturing, or similarly operational environments
  • Proven experience providing executive‑level HR advisory and strategic leadership
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate people initiatives into business outcomes
  • Advanced capability in employee and industrial relations across multiple jurisdictions
  • Demonstrated success leading change, transformation, and organisational design initiatives
  • Cultural intelligence and the ability to operate effectively across diverse geographies
  • A disciplined, governance‑focused approach to risk and compliance
