Purpose of the Job
To develop effective EHS risk management and drive continuous improvement towards Zero Harm for the AECI Namibia Operations.
To execute AECI Mining and AECI Namibia’s EHS strategy and execution plan for the attainment on annual and longer-term objectives.
To provide assurance on EHS compliance (Regulatory, Company and Customer) and the effectiveness of the Risk Management program.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Execute Company and Business EHS strategy
- Influence business leadership and staff on EHS matters
- Represent AECI Namibia on EHS matters with customers
- Undertake all levels of EHS Risk Assessments and supporting management plans
- Monitor and improve effectiveness of EHS controls – provide assurance
- Develop an EHS Compliance and Monitoring Plan
- Conduct EHS incident investigations, root cause analysis and facilitation of learning
- Ensure compliance to required Management Systems
- Ensure compliance to and effectiveness of AECI Mining’s World Class System
- EHS performance monitoring and reporting
- Execution / Facilitation of the required EHS Training
Qualifications and Experience
- Recognised Tertiary Qualification: Minimum of a 3 year degree (safety, environmental, engineering or equivalent)
- 5-8 years’ experience in a Mining Environment
- Knowledge of explosives, accessories and application thereof will be advantageous
- Demonstrated Risk Management Knowledge and Skills
- Data analysis, Auditing and CAPA
- Investigation and Root Cause Analysis
- Namibian EHS Legislation (Mining Specific)
