Purpose of the Job
To work as a shift operator to fulfil the manufacture of adhesives, road binders, tackifier and emulsions at a batch process plant, under the guidance of the plant’s Senior Process Controller.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Operate various distillation circuits, whilst adhering to strict SHE standards.
- Monitoring plant conditions & making adequate adjustments when necessary.
- Sample run, optimise yields and improve efficiencies under the guidance of the to shift SPC.
- Carryout plant corrections following utility testing to enhance utility conditions.
- Carryout vessel & tank transfers to enable the Oleochemical / distillation process.
- Work in other areas if and when required.
- Drive a forklift if and when necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Matric/Grade 12.
- Preferably NQF Level 4 in Chemical Operations.
- Must have at least two years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing plant.
- Focuses on attention to detail and show keen interest to learn.
- Literacy of MS Office will be advantageous.
