SHEQ Graduate

AECI Plant Health is offering an exciting graduate development programme within a highly specialised Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) environment. The role will be based in Lilianton, Gauteng. This programme aims to develop strong SHEQ capabilities; enhance exposure to SHEQ risk management and compliance; and build core SHEQ competencies within AECI Plant Health.

 

Key Responsibilities

The SHEQ Graduate will contribute to SHEQ initiatives, and will be responsible for the following:

• Assist depots with compliance to SHEQ policies, procedures, legal requirements, and company standards
• Support SHEQ compliance within plant operations, ensuring safe and efficient operational practices
• Conduct regular depot and plant inspections, audits, and compliance checks
• Assist with hazard identification, risk assessments, and implementation of control measures within depots and plant areas
• Support incident reporting and investigations related to depot and plant operations
• Monitor and support environmental compliance, including waste management, spill control, and housekeeping standards
• Assist with quality assurance activities in operational processes, including documentation and adherence to procedures
• Support SHEQ inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives for depot and plant personnel
• Maintain SHEQ records, reports, and corrective action tracking for depots and plant operations
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, compliance, and operational performance

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• A relevant Safety tertiary qualification
• Valid driver’s license
• Roadworthy and reliable personal vehicle
• Must be fluent in Afrikaans and able to understand and communicate effectively in Afrikaans
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Skills in database management and trend analysis advantageous
